Exploring the City

I thought you may be interested in seeing some pictures from the city center, which I took while doing a little tour on my own.

The Palais de Justice

gift from the family to me (from a popular chocolate shop in Brussels)
Yummy Ramadan cookies

Cute hat shop in city center! All handmade

One of the few last remaining pieces of the first wall to surround Brussels. There is a giant bowling place to its right and a glass office building to its left. That's Brussels architecture for ya.

Opera house

Cool modern paint-splattered ceiling in opera house

View from large terrace. You can see the Atomium if you look really close in the distance to the right of the church..

Large church at Place de Sablon

Small park/gardens and fountain at Place de Sablon

Close up of church entrance

Brussels Beer Weekends at the Grand Place. 70,000 people attended, 70% foreigners:)

Grand Place

Park near Palais Royale with different funky/modern sculptures of Belgian food/drink. (Beer in this picture, also had pommes frites, chocolate...)

Palais Royale at sunset

Stained glass in Sablon church
The infamous Manneken Pis, who is always dressed up in some kind of costume relating to an event or festival going on anywhere in the world. He currently has over 800 costumes. Here is is dressed up for something in Mexico...
